The honest answer: 10 to 15 years for most bathtubs — sometimes longer. But the range comes down to two things you can see, and one you cannot.
It starts with the prep
A coating is only as good as the surface under it. Skipping the etch or rushing the cleaning is the number-one reason finishes peel early. A proper acid-etch and repair is what bonds the new enamel for the long haul.
Daily care does the rest
Abrasive powders and stiff brushes are the enemy. A non-abrasive cleaner and a soft cloth keep the gloss intact; suction-cup bath mats are the other common culprit, trapping water and lifting the finish over time.
Material matters
Cast-iron and steel tubs hold a reglaze beautifully. Fiberglass and acrylic flex more, so they ask for a coating system built for the job — which is why we match the product to your fixture.
