The right way to clean a reglazed surface

A reglazed tub or sink is tough — but it is not bulletproof. A two-minute routine keeps the gloss for years.

The right way to clean a reglazed surface

Reglazed surfaces love gentle. Get the cleaning right and the finish rewards you with a decade of shine.

Lose the abrasives

Powdered cleansers and scrubbing bleach gels are designed to grind away grime — and they will dull a coating just as fast. Switch to a non-abrasive liquid cleaner or simple dish soap.

Soft tools only

A microfiber cloth or soft sponge is all you need. Retire the stiff brushes and green scouring pads; they leave fine scratches that catch the light.

Mind the mat

Suction-cup bath mats trap standing water against the finish and can pull at it when removed. If you need grip, choose a non-suction mat and hang it to dry between uses.

If a cleaner promises to scrub away anything, keep it away from a reglazed surface.
