Before you open the wall looking for a pipe, look down. Most mystery shower leaks start at a tired pan.
Cracks you can barely see
Fiberglass and acrylic pans flex underfoot and develop hairline cracks over time. Water wicks through them into the subfloor — no dripping pipe required.
Failed grout and caulk
The seam where the pan meets the wall is the first thing to go. Once the caulk shrinks or the grout crumbles, every shower sends a little water behind the surface.
How a reseal fixes it
We seal the cracks, recoat the pan with a waterproof epoxy and re-caulk every seam. The surface becomes non-porous again — and grippier, if you add a non-slip texture.
A shower can leak for months from a crack you would never spot — and no plumber is needed to fix it.
